WHAT IS PHAT?

LEARNING ABOUT THE GOD WHO MADE YOU

We’re pumped to open the Bible & see what it has to say about God, Jesus, His love for you, and what it all means for us as we live our lives. Come ready to ask loads of questions and challenge stuff, ready to learn stacks, and ready to be pushed to think for yourself about the biggest questions of life.

THE MOST FUN YOU’VE EVER HAD

Until you experienced it, you’ve got no idea. Imagine battling against 300 teens to capture a flag, take a base, or defend a prisoner… across a whole campsite including fields, obstacle courses, water, + wide open spaces. We guarantee these will be the best, biggest, most epic games you’ve ever played. Oh yeah, then there’s all the other generally sweet sweet fun we’ll be having. Free time. Hanging out. Swimming. Playing cards. Touch footy. Mixed netball. Volleyball. Loving life.

AMAZING COMMUNITY + VIBE

There’s something special about PHAT. It’s the vibe. Hundreds of people there to love and genuinely look out for each other. You’ll get to know heaps of new people, including our amazing leaders, in a community of real love and acceptance. Chances are some of these guys will become the best friends of your life.

STACKS OF OTHER SICK STUFF

Tasty, tasty food. Awesome music. Praising God. The Schnack Bar. Praying for each other. Challenges. Lollies. Dance Party…

Words really can’t describe it. But one thing is clear. You do not want to miss out.
It will be the best time of your life.
See you at PHAT 2019.

LOCATION CHANGE DETAILS

It’s been a bit of a crazy year for Phat organisation!
Since Sport and Rec closed Myuna Bay a few weeks out from camp, we’ve locked in that we’ll be holding Phat at Lake Burrendong Sport and Rec campsite near Dubbo. Yep Dubbo!!
I realise that’s probably a bit of a surprise, but after spending a week chasing down all the options that has been the only one the Sports and Rec guys have left us with.
And so we’re wholeheartedly embracing it!

This will mean a return to the old system of youth travelling to camp on coaches leaving from EV Church – so for the vast majority of families we’re hoping that this change will actually end up being an easier one logistically – just dropping them off and picking them up from Erina.

Part-Time Campers

I’m sure the distance does pose some challenges for the handful of campers who were planning on attending part time.
Unfortunately it isn’t possible for us to offer alternative transport than the times the coaches will be leaving/returning on Tuesday morning and Saturday evening. But if you were able to arrange for the trip that lies outside of the coach times (ie. dropping them in late, or picking them up early) we will ensure there is space on the coaches for part-time campers for the trip they do make with us.

Additionally, we’re very happy to help connect families of part-time campers with similar travel times who may be able to car pool.
If you would like to be included in this email phatrego@evyouth.com – including if you aren’t able to transport your child and would be happy for them to be taken by another family, or if you’re happy to drive your child and would be fine with taking others.
We can’t promise to find these arrangements or make them work perfectly time-wise, but I’m very very happy to help however I can so that the most number of youth will be able to be at Phat.

We’ve been so encouraged and thankful for your patience with us as we’ve worked through these challenges.
I’m certain there will be questions to come, and I hope you’ll understand the need for your continued patience in us getting back to you as quickly as we can amidst a lot of organising to do!
